Incardination
of Clergy
If
you have never been a practicing Christian....
If you
feel moved to become a Catholic Christian through the Old Holy Roman
Church of the English Rite (Anglican Rite Roman Catholic Church),
please contact the offices
of the Patriarchal See. You will be required to undergo
sufficient study in the faith, and then be received
as a convert. If you have not been baptized, this is required.
Afterwards, you will be presented for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The most traditional time for adult baptism and confirmation is at
the Easter Vigil. However, it may be done at virtually any time as needed.
If
you are an Anglican....
Though we
are not affiliated with the Anglican Ordinariate, we encourage those
Protestant Anglicans seeking a parochial program in furtherance of
their spiritual life through conversion to Catholicism to join the
Anglican Ordinariate (Roman Catholic - Anglican Form) directly under
the Holy Father (go to the
external US Ordinariate website), which maintains an extensive
network of parishes around the world. Otherwise, contact a the offices
of the Patriarchal See. You will need to present certificates of
Baptism and, if you have received it, Confirmation. Next, you will
need to take the Oath
for Reception of Converts as a sign of your acceptance of the
fullness of the Catholic Faith. Anglicans who are properly disposed
and hold Catholic belief regarding the Sacraments may be granted
permission by a priest or bishop to receive the Sacraments (excepting
Confirmation and Ordination).
If
you are Roman Catholic....
With or
without formal parochial affiliation in the Old Holy Roman Church of
the English Rite, all Roman Catholics are welcome to receive all the
Sacraments of the Church from the OHRCER (ARRCC) in accordance with
the Code of Particular Canon Law. We permit Roman Catholics in the
Roman Communion to receive the Sacraments from the ARRCC, provided it
is in accordance with Canon 844 of the Code of Canon Law. Formal
reception is done by presentation of ecclesiastical records.
If
you are an Eastern Rite Catholic or Orthodox....
With or
without formal parochial affiliation in the Old Holy Roman Church of
the English Rite, we permit all Eastern Rite Catholics and Orthodox
to receive all the Sacraments of the Church from the OHRCER in
accordance with the Code of Particular Canon Law. Formal reception is
done by presentation of ecclesiastical records.
If
you are a Protestant....
